Zippr, a start-up that gives you a unique address on Google maps, has received angel funding of Rs. 6 crore from Indian Angel Network and a few other investors.

“We are going to focus on pushing quicker consumer adoption through offline activation and scaling technology infrastructure. We will also increase the size of the team,” Aditya Vuchi, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Zippr, told Business Line after receiving the funding news.

He said the company would wait for 12-18 months to go for Series A funding to part with some equity to venture capital firms.

The app recognizes the location of the user on a map and assigns a unique eight-digit alpha-numeric identity. You can send the id to friends in the form of SMS, mails or even WhatsApp messages, relatives and customers, instead of giving them directions over phone.

When they click on the link, they will get a Google map to your address no matter from where they open the link.

The company has recently tied up with 108 (emergency service) for helping the victims in an accident or passersby to quickly create the Zippr codes, allowing the ambulances reach the spot much quicker.
