Building Bodyweight Exercise Out of PVC Jigs and Parallettes

DIY parallettes are a great way to get your car into that parallel parking space more easily. You can even add other items to it to improve the parking capability even more, such as wider wheels for better traction or a wider tire for more power. With this information, you may want to build your own DIY parallel parking car. Here is how to do it.

First, you need to get some PVC pipes. These are long, thin pieces of plastic with bends in them. Since they are not very heavy, you won't have any problems putting these together. The pieces that you buy will come pre-fit, but if you decide you want to make your own, carefully measure out where the pieces will go and then take the proper size PVC pipes from your local hardware store. You can use 3 common materials to create DIY parallettes; wood, pvc, and stainless steel.

Next, you need to cut holes in all four sides of the piece you just bought. Drill them until your nails hold firmly in place. This is your plywood layer, which will act as a foundation for your DIY parallettes. Using a circular saw, cut the plywood to fit, and then spread it evenly on top of the plywood so that it is even all around.

After the plywood layer is in place, you need to put the diagonal jumps in first. Lay your piece of wood on top of the plywood, press it firmly in place, and then start cutting. Do this for all 4 sides, since you will want each side of your day parallettes to have a set of parallel horizontal bars. Once you have done that, you will have a complete and perfect DIY parallette workout.

To complete your DIY paralleettes, you must add a second piece of plywood on top of the second pipe. The reason you need to do this is so that the two pieces of wood can join with each other. Once they join, you can attach a second pipe to the top of the first pipe. Once that is done, you are all set! Since you now have two parallel bars on top of your two pipes, your bodyweight exercises will be much easier and you will be able to do more total body workouts in less time.

To finish off your DIY parallettes, you should add a second T-joint in the middle of the two pieces together. Make sure the second T-joint is right next to the first T-joint. You can get a free exercise diagram on the internet or from your local gym. Once your pieces are together and you have done all of your reps, you can attach weights to the bar and do some cardio or power lifting for that awesome pecs.
