1. Remember that the weight of the line depends on the relative conditions.

5. Try using shooting tapers.
Shooting tapers are usually used when you have to cover a greater distance using very long lines that reach up to 30 feet. Shooting heads should be a size heavier than your usual ones for a significant gain in distance.

The guidelines suggested by the fishing rod manufacturers do not define any standard rule. So, you should make it a point to experiment with different line weights so that you know what works in special fishing conditions.
