Different types of mechanical bearings

Mechanical bearing is an engineering component, which helps two different mechanical components to rotate and move in a disciplined way. Mechanical Bearing helps you in reducing friction and stress while performing the work. It is naturally easier to move things in a rotational way or in a linear movement. Mechanical bearing helps you performing the task easily and in a quick turnaround time.

How bearings work?

Bearings work with the concept of a ball, where things slide over the ball to have a tension free movement without any friction. The concept of a ball is similar to the concept of a wheel, where a wheel slides or rolls through the ground without any friction. Different bearing types are available to perform different kinds of jobs, since there are plenty of options in mechanical bearings. Some of the heavy duty works are performed with the help of a better quality bearing, where it would have the capacity to handle the heavy load.

Bearings are used in most of the machines, since there would be a robotic activity in every machine. Every robotic activity requires a mechanical bearing, as it needs to walk and bend without any hassles.

There are different types of mechanical bearings for different purposes, as every mechanical bearing is designed to handle different types of load. Some of the common and popular types of bearings are

  1. Ball Bearings

Ball bearings are the most common type of bearing, which can be seen even in a cigarette lighter. This bearing will have a space on the device, where there will be a proper arrangement of balls to handle both radial and thrust loads. Different machines would have different kinds of requirement with respect to movement. It is important to have a enough information about the machinery to produce the right kind of device. Ball Bearings play a major role in other mechanical bearings, since it acts as a common and an important component for every mechanical bearing device.

  1. Roller Bearings

Roller bearings are not used in residential locations, since they are manufactured to handle heavy loads. Most of the block mills use roller bearings, since they would have heavy goods and machineries to be handled. Roller bearings take the help of ball bearing inside, as it requires to set of ball bearing to handle a big load of machinery.

  1. Ball Thrust bearings

Ball thrust bearings are manufactured and designed to handle most of the heavy load machines in an effective way, as ball thrust bearings provide an opportunity to control the speed and directions. Ball thrust bearings are designed to handle huge amount of thrust compared to any other mechanical bearings.

  1. Roller Thrust Bearings

Roller thrust bearings are very much similar to ball thrust bearings. Roller thrust bearings are manufactured to handle heavy loads and are utilized in most of the automobiles. Roller thrust bearings are the important components to have a smooth gear experience, since the bearings are designed to handle good amount of thrust in an effective way.
