Introduction:

The world is getting more modern and fast day by day. The things are getting changed. If we can show the today world to the man of a century ago, we can throw him into a river of thoughts and shocks. One thing he’ll get amazed by the digital revolution from the Govt of India, it is called DigiLocker.

DigiLocker is the digital place where you can store your different government provided papers by just utilizing your Aadhaar card number.

How to Sign Up:

To join, you’ll be required just your Aadhaar number with you. Just enter it and an SMS will be sent to your mobile phone. You’ll be sent the password in that SMS. Use that to enter into your DigiLocker account and you are done for signup. Afterward, you can change that password whatever you want. You can link your account to your Facebook or Google accounts.

After signing up, you can upload/save your documents issued by the Govt of India in your DigiLocker account. It’s pretty simple is that.

Benefits:

To reduce the need for physical documents, it is the main idea behind it. In the list below, I am going to share some great uses of this awesome service. Let’s have a look.

  1. All of your educational and birth certificates are online and you want to apply for a passport, your documents can easily be approached by passport authorities from the DigiLocker. You’ll not have to take all of them with you to the passport office.
  2. If you want to send your driving license to a company, you can do it easily by your DigiLocker account. Not only the private companies, you can send all of your documents duly signed by you to any Govt department for job, authentication or any other purpose.
  3. Every Govt department can send your digital documents to your account by just having your Aadhaar number. This is time and energy saving.

Security:

Talking only about the benefits is foolish, we should think about the security of your digital documents. DigiLocker uses HTTPS protocol. The same protocol is being used by the banks for secure transaction of data. This means DigiLocker is in safe hands.

That’s it. This is ok for now. If you need some more information about how it works and how you can take more benefits from it or you want more information about it, you can search Google or here. Have a good day.
