The Latest Educational Programs for 2019

Technology trends in education are constantly changing the way students learn and retain information. Programs like Adobe Spark, Quizlet, and Remind are just a few of the most popular programs that are helping students and teachers in schools across the country in 2019.

Adobe Spark

For over a decade, PowerPoint has been the go-to program for crafting presentations and lessons. Adobe is challenging the way students and teachers create with their new program Adobe Spark. With Spark, you can easily create inspiring and interactive projects with seamless animations and transitions. Add photos, videos, text, music, and even your own voice to a class project, lesson, or business presentation. You don't have to know web coding to use Adobe Spark and make your own webpage. Projects can be viewed on laptops as well as smartphones and tablets without interfacing issues. You can also upload and share your work instantly via email, Youtube, Blackboard, or social media.  

Quizlet

Quizlet started as a simple flashcard generator. A student could plug in information like Biology definitions or Spanish terms and cycle through the digital flashcards to memorize them. Since it’s creation, Quizlet has evolved considerably to include several different learning and memorization styles. Once the student has uploaded their terms, they can choose between five different learning modes: flashcards, learn, fill-in-the-blank, matching, or test. Memorization develops a student’s retrieval practice and improves memory. Quizlet is a web-based program, but now they also have a smartphone app so students can study on the go. Students and teachers can sign up for free and access to all of the learning tools.

Remind

When it comes to communication between students and teachers, text messaging is a great way to encourage students to study and complete tasks. Remind (formerly Remind 101) is a text message alert program that teachers can use to send reminders to their students. Whether it’s an upcoming project or a test, sending a text message to a student has shown to improve performance in school. It shows the student that you care about their progress. Remind is compatible with several learning management systems like Blackboard and Canvas. Text messages are secure, and personal information like phone numbers are kept private.
