Five new Designer Smartwatches from Fossil in the Offing

For a long time, Fossil and its several sub-brands appear to be keeping Wear OS alive single-handedly. This trend is not likely to be overturned soon if the recent rumors are be believed and actualized. Fossil is planning to release new designer smartwatches soon, according to the listings on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Reputable sources have identified five model numbers from the commission’s database: DW10D1, DW10E1, DW10M1, DW10M2, and DW10F1. They also claim that Fossil is entirely responsible for all these designer smartwatches, even though the sources have not revealed much about them.

However, it is possible to determine the brand from these model numbers using the final letter of each name based on previous Fossil watches. For example, DW10D1 will be released under Diesel, while DW10E1 will be under Emporio Armani, DW10M2 and DW10M1 under Michael Kors, and DW10F1 under Fossil. While the designs and specifications are the most vital aspects of a smartwatch, they have not been revealed yet since the FCC is certifying the new timepieces for use with Wi-Fi (2.4GHz) and Bluetooth. While it is difficult to predict when the smartwatches might launch, you can be sure that they could land soon considering their presence on the FCC’s database.

You might wonder why there are two Michael Kors smartwatches on the list. Fossil has consistently prepared two models for the fashion brand under the Access Sofie and Access Runway model names. The former is mostly designed with masculine wrists in mind even though it is a unisex timepiece. The latter is a more delicate brand. Having a new Diesel smartwatch in the market is exciting as the only Diesel smartwatch in the market today is one of the best-looking watches you can get today. What more? Watch lovers will also be hoping to see a continuation of the current exceptional design from the new Emporio Armani model.

Apart from Fossil Sport, the rest of the models released in 2018 used the old Snapdragon 2100 processor. Hopefully, the new models will use the Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset even though its inclusion is not a significant leap. However, it is an important advancement, and it allows for more RAM, which will automatically result in better performance. It is an essential feature that makes the new watches to be advance over last year’s versions and also worth buying. However, we are justified to expect the new models to feature similar other specifications based on Fossil's past releases. It releases a bunch of models with same attributes under its several brands except for the wallpapers and design.

For now, all there is to know is that it won't be long before the new smartwatches are officially disclosed. Fossil had initially spread its announcements over last year's summer; it also made more of them for the first time at the Berlin's IFA technology show in September. Most likely, the company will adopt the same pattern this year. With any luck, we will know for sure shortly.
