Fifty Shades of Grey Release Cast & News Update: E.L. James Can't Stop Tweeting

When a film project of “Fifty Shades......” stature is underway, there are going to be tongues wagging. And while tongues may wag, the force behind the novels (for she is the author) and this film adaptation (she is one of the producers too), E.L. James, has taken to Twitter more often than not, to clear the air of any misunderstandings that these wagging tongues might give birth to. When news first surfaced that the bestselling novel “Fifty Shades Of Grey” written by Erica James or as we better know her, E.L. James would be adapted for the big screen, there was a lot of hue and cry about who would be the ideal Ana and Christian on screen? After Dakota Johnson was finalised in the role of Anastasia Steele, with billionaire businessman Christian Grey, the search for the perfect Mr. Grey started, and since then it has been an uphill climb for the casting team.

Actors started opting out of the venture as if the project was jinxed, and sometimes it also looked like the film would probably never be made for lack of a ‘Grey’ character! But then, Jamie Dornan happened. The Irish actor who was seen on television in “The Fall” and other series, joined the cast when Charlie Hunnam, the star of “Sons of Anarchy” and the first choice of the casting team as Christian Grey, walked out of the project, citing commitment to his television show, the real reason? We may never know! Before Jamie, many actors were billed to be Christian Greys, but lady luck smiled on this 31 year old hunk, and we are not complaining! Erica James was so excited to have the actor and ex- Calvin Klein model on board that she couldn’t stop tweeting about his arrival. Among her first tweets, she circulated the picture of a scrabble board and the letters D-O-R-N-A-N spelt to signal the arrival of the actor.

Recently news had surfaced that the film crew, with Dakota and Jamie in tow, will be heading to the Canary Islands of Spain to shoot the honeymoon scenes, and if you have read the trilogy, you would know that this is more like a sign of disappointment than enjoyment. The honeymoon scenes take place in the third book of the trilogy and soon eager fans started asking if there would be three films for the three novels. While some said, this 50 shades movie will be an amalgamation of all the three novels, the queen bee herself took to Twitter to set the record straight. She has informed that there would be three books for the films, and this news coming from her, we can breathe a sigh of relief. The first one, however, releases on the 13th of February 2015.
