Under local anaesthetic, small metal rods are fitted into the jaw bone. These metal rods, usually made up from titanium, have a screw or clip attachment at the end. The patient is then fitted with a temporary bridge or even temporary dentures to wear whilst healing, all dependants on the severity of damage the teeth had displayed before. At this point, once Dr Khan is happy with the implants progress, he’ll then carry out a second minor procedure, again under local anaesthetic, where by he’ll reveal the tooth implant once more and simply screw in the permanent artificial tooth.
