For one thing, student housing costs much less compared to staying in dormitories. Before choosing the facilities for your St Kitts Student Housing accommodation, be sure to inspect the house thoroughly. Make sure all bills are paid. Be sure to run an apartment inventory report, so you can assess the condition of the house. Lastly, make sure your parents are the guarantors of the contract. Negotiate your annual month's payment in advance and get a discount on your rent. Remember to write down your meter readings on the day you come in, so you don't end up paying previous electric bills.

Apartments for rent

The splurge behind students staying in rental apartments is staggering. It shows how budget conscious our students are. It was at university in the fall of 2013 that students saw their families go into debt to pay for their stays in college dormitories. • Visit at least more than three apartments to get the best deal

Student life

If you plan to live off campus, then student life is your answer. Modern and comfortable en suite suites are available near colleges for students to choose from. Obviously, you have to find your student living before you enroll in college and a few days before you can settle in. In the private sectors, students tend to watch out for:

• Self-contained flats or a single house if with a group of students

• If it is individual, then a study and if it is a couple, then a bedroom set.

• A single room with other students

• A single room with another family / owner

• A room in a private room not managed by the university.

Some students may also have other requirements to meet besides studying. Some of the common problems are:

• Furnished apartments: Students from outside the country have this problem, hence; Furnished apartments are a better option, especially with kitchen utensils.

• A 9-month contract: Undergraduate students prefer a 9-month contract, as renting the apartment with a one-year contract is a waste of money.

• Allow the conversion of living room into bedroom: some students ask their classmates to live together and share the rent, therefore; many owners allow this option
