This is a contributor to the pollution caused by the construction industry. So, the management must enforce a rule of zero wastage and employ engineers to take care of this rule. It is a good thing that the companies which manufacture building materials are continuously bringing out eco-friendly products. Responsible construction companies make it a point that only environment-friendly building materials are used in the entire project. It might seem a bit expensive and dampen the confidence of the management initially but the final value of the eco-friendly product will nullify the additional expenses.
