Polo Luxury Group hosts Cartier Africa boss, eyes stronger brand

In a move aimed at strengthening its dominance in Nigeria’s luxury goods space through stronger strategic partnership, Polo Luxury Group, a leading indigenous luxury good company, has played host to Cartier Africa boss.

John Obayuwana, managing director/CEO, Polo Luxury Group, welcomed Alessandro Patti, the CEO of Cartier Africa, on the latter’ first visit to Nigeria.

The visit was also to further strengthen the partnership between Polo Luxury Group and Cartier as well as to emphasise its position as the exclusive agent of Cartier in Nigeria and West Africa.

Speaking at the visit, Obayuwana stated that Polo Luxury Group was proud to be associated with the global luxury brand and considered it a special privilege to be the Nigeria partner for Cartier, noting that Cartier was reputed to be one of the world’s esteemed and respected Maisons in the luxury goods industry.

“Cartier, as a jeweller based in Paris, has always led the way in creativity, innovation, beauty and style. This is what Cartier represents to the world and in the world. The presence of Patti further cements our relationship with Cartier and in turn, boosts the Nigerian luxury market,” Obayuwana stated.

Furthermore, the Polo Luxury Group CEO added that apart from the availability of exclusive products provided by Cartier, the brand also brings its luxury know-how and expertise to Polo.

Speaking on the reason for his visit, Patti mentioned that Africa was an emerging continent in the world with Nigeria being the fastest growing economy for luxury business.

“As the first luxury brand in watch and jewellery, we are here to see how we can implement a long-term sustainable growth of our investments with Polo, the pioneers in luxury business in Nigeria,” he said.

Patti also affirmed that Polo Luxury Group in Nigeria had the requisite knowledge and passion to service its clientele, which is fundamental in delivering the trust that the brand, Cartier, sells to its customers.

Also present during the visit were Pierre-Emmanuel Placette, the area manager, Cartier Africa and Middle East, as well as Jennifer Obayuwana, the executive director, Polo Luxury Group.
