Advantages of a Goyen diaphragm valve

The Crosby pressure relief valves are the safety & relief valves operated by direct spring and they have been one of the world’s most used valves for steam, gas, liquid and the multi-phase applications in gas & oil production, chemical as well as petrochemical processing systems, refining and for utility as well as industrial steam systems that are used in the power generation units. Being one of the leaders in pressure relief valves, the Goyen diaphragm valve is also worth a mention, being the leader in diaphragm valves. The new Goyen Series 4 pulsejet valves offer the benefits of a very high flow rate and extremely quick response.

The Goyen diaphragm valve, Series 4, is perfectly suitable for the reverse pulse cleaning for jet filter. This high performance valve might be used with the latest dust collectors or for replacement of existing 1 inch valves in refurbishment of dust collector. It has several applications like pleated filters, fabric filters, panel filters, manufacturing, power generation and mining, among others. Features include improved pulse cleaning, being the best from 0.3 Bar to the 8.6 Bar. Additionally, it cleans more filter area per valve than before. There is a better control of air usage, due to fast opening as well as closing responses. It also responds to the short electrical of up to 50 ms.

Other features include facilities of no spring failure, due to an integrated spring. There is a thermoplastic elastomer that has been blend to maintain a constant performance on any temperature or pressure. Different segments in the oil and gas industry have different requirements with regards to equipments and controls and valves. For example, the upstream segment requires strong and tough valves as performance is critical because of the damage that leakage could cause to the seas and their fragile ecosystems. The midstream segment would generally require isolation valves, like the Crosby pressure relief valves.

The upstream segment would require full port gate and ball valves. However, this being said, it is essential to note that regardless of the valve style, dependability is critical. In the downstream segment, there are several harsh environments that require a variety of design solutions. In this case, high temperature applications like delayed coking could place a significant amount of thermal stress on all valve components. With extreme requirements for different valves, there are several brands that manufacture such custom made valves like the Goyen diaphragm valve. As there are extreme application changes brought about because of harsh environments in discovery, transporting and refining, manufacturers are faced with several challenges.

It should be noted that pressure relief valves present on the clean non-corrosive, non-toxic systems can be vented to the atmosphere directly. However, some Crosby pressure relief valves present on toxic, corrosive or expensive recoverable liquids are vented in the closed systems. For these valves, it is possible to develop a higher back pressure. This back pressure must be determined and its effects on the valve performance must be taken into account. For this purpose, extreme care is taken in design as well as application of these valves, to avoid any damage to the valves or the system.

There are several different valve types around nowadays like the Crosby pressure relief valves and the Goyen diaphragm valve and you should select one that is best for fulfilling your requirements.
