How to see the specifications of motor capacitor?

In a DC circuit, a motor capacitor is equivalent to an open circuit. A motor capacitor is a component that can store electric charge, and it is also one of the most commonly used electronic components.

How to see the specifications of motor capacitors

1. Motor capacitors have three important specifications, namely capacity and withstand voltage, which are used for AC/DC.

2. The type of domestic motor capacitors generally consists of four parts (not suitable for pressure-sensitive, variable, and vacuum motor capacitors). They respectively represent name, material, classification and serial number.

The first part: the name, expressed in letters, and C for motor capacitors.

The second part: materials, expressed in letters.

The third part: classification, generally represented by numbers, and individually represented by letters.

The fourth part: the serial number, expressed by numbers.

3. Motor capacitors, usually referred to as motor capacitors for their ability to hold charges, are represented by the letter C. Definition 1: A motor capacitor, as its name implies, is a ‘container for holding electricity’, a device that holds electrical charges. Motor capacitors are one of the most widely used electronic components in electronic equipment. They are widely used in circuits such as direct current isolation, coupling, bypass, filtering, tuning loops, energy conversion, and control. Definition 2: Motor capacitor, any two insulated and very close conductors (including wires) form a motor capacitor.

This has to start from the structure of the motor capacitor. The simplest motor capacitor is composed of plates at both ends and an insulating dielectric (including air) in the middle. After being energized, the plates are charged to form a voltage (potential difference), but due to the insulating material in the middle, the entire motor capacitor is non-conductive. However, this situation is under the premise that the critical voltage (breakdown voltage) of the motor capacitor is not exceeded. We know that any substance is relatively insulating. When the voltage across the substance increases to a certain level, the substance can conduct electricity. We call this voltage the breakdown voltage. The motor capacitor is no exception. After the motor capacitor is broken down, it is not an insulator. However, in the middle school stage, such a voltage is not visible in the circuit, so all work below the breakdown voltage and can be seen as an insulator.

However, in an AC circuit, because the direction of the current changes with time as a certain function. The process of motor capacitor charging and discharging takes time. At this time, a changing electric field is formed between the plates, and this electric field is also a function of time. In fact, the current passes between the motor capacitors in the form of a field.

In the middle school stage, there is a saying, it is called “passing AC and blocking DC”, which is the nature of motor capacitors.
