PC Engine Hyper Catalog 4 is not a game, per se, but an edition of a periodically issued reference/demo disc with lots of cool stuff onboard. The centerpiece of this PC Engine CD-ROM disc is the Hyper Catalog of games, with prices, genres, and brief text details -- but no images. I presume this ad refers to another publication, as I don't think this CD-ROM would have come out monthly. The disc actually opens with a neat trick, as the PC Engine startup CD-ROM menu seems to tilt and rotate into the background when we press the RUN button -- but if we boot with an alternative system card, like the TurboGrafx-CD, the impressive effect is revealed as a pre-rendered sequence, not a real-time image warp. The ideal customer will think about the system and will spread word about the company, differnt from the old school "couch potatoes". Granted, there aren’t many game modes to experiment with, but Titanfall's free-flowing movement system doesn’t take long to get its hooks in you.

fortnite aimbot stays in synch with the Snark, on its right side, but we can't easily target it without being rocketed to death; we have to move beyond the Snark's tail to get a clear shot, and Thorpe generally fires first. Stu Galley and Jim Lawrence went on to author Infocom's Moonmist, another Introductory-level adventure, and someday I'm sure I'll get around to playing that one. Still, 20XX is not some MMX knock off, but another one of those much loved roguelike games. Not much of a party game, really -- wandering through creepy, dark woods and caverns fighting off deadly enemies who fortunately suffer from crippling light sensitivity -- but that's the promotion du jour. Fracture is most popular, because it allows you to keep fighting while enemies hit your decoys (similar to mirror image). This DSi/3DS game uses one screen for actual gameplay, while the other presents an overhead, 3-D view of the exciting proceedings as the player's avatar pushes boxes into a variety of often-irreversible configurations, in an attempt to reach something of value hidden behind a bunch of awkwardly placed boxes. 3DS eShop -- One new game, Dillon's Rolling Western, pitting a rolling armadillo sheriff against a variety of bizarre Western creatures, with an interesting mix of tower-defense and direct assault.

Crazy Machines Elements is a physics-based puzzle/construction game, and retro gaming fans will want to check out Choplifter HD (see above). Choplifter HD (see above) remakes Dan Gorlin's Apple II classic for the current hardware generation, and I'm pleased to see that while the graphics are updated to a modern 3-D engine, the chopper still floats and can only face to the left, front and right. You can learn more about the syntax highlighter's features here. The aim with Modern Warfare 2 looks to have been to improve on every element of the original, so while features and ideas may look similar, everything you'll find is better. On the contrary, they look pretty crisp and when it comes to sound, they excel in that as well. PSOne Classics -- Quiet here as well. Wii Virtual Console -- Quiet again, its long silence only briefly broken by last week's release of Strider. Since its first release date in 2009 and with every subsequent update, Minecraft has been taking the iGaming world by storm. 101 Pinball World is a pinball game that makes good use of the system's twin screens -- but I'd be more enthused if there weren't 101 pinball tables included; something tells me they won't all be stellar.

But you might be wise to avoid 101 Pinball World in favor of Zen Pinball instead -- it's in 3D, of course, and spreads itself less thin with four diverse tables, complete with LED displays. It might be necessary to upgrade your power supply as well to avoid video card malfunctions. “I was quite impressed with how well it performs,” says Lew. But it almost works a little too well -- Sharon immediately takes over and handles the remainder of the details, including the luring of the Snark to an underwater cavern for further study. Past the title menu, our friends spot Santa claus zooming through the skies over Tokyo, and rush to see what he has left under the tree. I wish we got to learn more about the Snark itself -- a whole new chain of life based on novel chemistry is a fascinating idea -- but clearly that's left to the player's imagination.

After many unsuccessful tries to tranquilize the Snark and then deal with the villain, I discovered that it works best if we first cripple the Sea Cat with our bazooka. Of course, Thorpe regains consciousness before we can tranquilize the Snark, and takes us out with a rocket from his commandeered Sea Cat. The sonarscope shows the Snark, the Sea Cat, and its rocket's broad firing range to help us assess the situation. If we do succeed in tranquilizing the Snark, Thorpe can aim at us with his Sea Cat's lethal rocket again. If we collide with the Sea Cat, it is disabled but its rocket is not. While most of the content is in Japanese, the back cover of the disc insert advertises the "PC Engine Monthly Magazine for Game Freaks" -- in English.
