Why Boiler Water Treatment is Required

These problems can lead to break down and cause serious losses in terms of time and money. Proper water treatment for your boiler is vitally important to prevent this.

The boiler ensures a constant supply of warm and hot water to both domestic and large properties like drinking water for hotels. Many common issues which can occur if you do not treat the water in a boiler system correctly. Continuous improvement and changes in the methods of maintaining water quality, understanding the corrosion mechanisms, and the development of new chemicals have resulted in a more economical and efficient water regime management. There are many reasons why water quality is so important to be contained.

Water contains dissolved salts, which upon evaporation of water forms scales on the heat transfer surfaces. Scales have much lower heat transfer capacity than steel. This leads to overheating and failure of the boiler tubes. The scale also reduces flow area, which increases the pressure drop in boiler tubes and piping. Flow assisted corrosion occurs in the carbon steel pipes due to the continuous removal of the protective oxide the layer at high flow. As the gases dissolve, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and ammonia will react with the metals in the boiler system and lead to corrosion.

Boiler water treatment is done to control its salinity, hardness, oxygen content, conductivity, acidity or basicity etc. Water quality is a vital aspect of proper boiler functionality. a boiler with excessive impurities in the water will eventually break down as it can no longer function fully. These contaminants also cause erosion of turbines blades. Silica at higher operating pressures volatilizes and carries over to the turbine blades. Proper treatment will breakdown impurities and restore full function.

Also, a high concentration of solids in the water will lead to floating or forming on the surface of the water. When this water evaporates esteem it can cause deposits in valves, heat exchangers, turbines, and super heaters, and strip away the magnetic layer in steam lines. This can also result in the general correlation and use the function of your system. Treatment can reduce the occurrence of farming and prevent these issues.

Industrial ultrafiltration system is intended to purify water from suspended and colloidal particles, as well as organic and microbiological impurities. All these issues, if not properly prevented or left untreated can leave you with thousands of repair cost, as well as standing your facility without hot water. A nuisance if it is a domestic or office property, a nightmare for hotels or hospitals, for example.
