Catering Service has been defined as, 'the preparation and serving of food at a location other than the original place of business'. Catering services include but are not limited to food preparation and serving, beverage preparation and serving, and cleaning up after the event or party. This does not include cleaning of restaurant areas or any indoor facilities that a Catering Service provider may use for preparing, serving, and cleaning up food and beverages after an event or party. Catering Services also includes Clean Up After Party or Event Services. These are usually offered by caterers who are contracted to clean up after the guests leave and after they have left. These services may include cleaning the area where the guests spent their time at your venue, sanitizing and disinfecting of restrooms and kitchens, and moving the guest's dishes to designated areas after the event or party is over. Many Catering Service providers will offer these services as part of a package deal. Other providers may charge additional fees for this service.

Many people wonder if it is okay to eat the food themselves at a party or event. In many cases it is acceptable as long as the caterer has provided and serves appropriate serving dishes and the guests are responsible for themselves. It is also acceptable to eat the main course dishes and then the side dishes at a catering service. Typically, however, most caterers serve dishes that are prepared with fresh ingredients and served on the appropriate 屯門到會. There are four main types of event catering: the full-service caterers who prepare your meals; private full-service caterers who serve your food as well as decorate and clean the area; event caterers; and corporate event caterers who participate in seminars and similar events. The main types of caterers mentioned above generally offer four or more services at one time. This ensures that each customer will receive personal attention. Some of these four types of event catering service providers are also known as foodservice providers. They are often referred to as foodservice caterers. A full-service caterer will prepare the meal while another employee serves the guests.

Private full-service caterers typically prepare the meal, place it on trays and then deliver it to the guests themselves. Some examples include deli food servers, pizza delivery, take-out, and other fast food. Professional caterers are typically referred to as executive or staff caterers. They are employed by larger companies and restaurants. A full-service professional caterer may have trained food servers, managers and other employees that are trained in preparing and serving the family style allowing guests to have a great and pleasant meal.
