Main reasons why women education is important

The main purpose of imparting education to mankind is to enhance their development and growth to further contribute to the growth of society. The opportunity of attaining education helps ensure a strong, wise, and thriving society. Moreover, when we talk about women's education, we are bound to talk about various other aspects as well. For thousands of years, women have been deprived of fundamental rights and basic necessities owing to their gender and the stereotypes associated with it.

In this article, we will be talking about the main reasons why education is important for women. Although the struggle for making education a right for women has been going on for several years now, American school for girls in Ras Al Khaimah has been excelling in providing quality education for women. Let us look at this issue from the perspective of such modern and progressive schools.

  • It is their basic right

When we say education is the basic right for everyone, we must not forget that women are an important part. Educating people leads us to move towards becoming a society with literate and learned people. Women comprise a significant section of our society and thus to see the literacy rate and its effects soar high, giving education to women is also important.

  • It empowers them

Education is the key to empowering the non-empowered. Like the other underprivileged sections of our society, a lot of women across the world also stand in a position where empowerment lags behind. By ensuring equal and quality education to each and every woman, we, as a society can contribute to making our women empowered in every aspect. Like the First American curriculum school in RAK considers it important to make girls educated and empowered, looking at the larger picture of society will help us know the state of empowerment of women in the world.

  • It makes them aware

Education not only allows people to read and write but it also makes them sensible and aware enough to understand their rights and responsibilities. Say, for example, an educated woman is likely to be more aware about her health, family planning, marital rape, and other rights. Whereas, an uneducated woman would barely know any of these. Hence, giving women the education they deserve will also ensure that we will help them be aware citizens of our society.

  • It helps them make informed decisions

A person who knows the value of money, quality education, good health, and good upbringing will always know that these things are possible only when the family is small and there are enough resources and money to afford the basic necessities. An educated woman will thus know these things better. The need to teach every child the importance of better education, health, and family planning is important today more than ever. If a woman is informed and educated enough, the possibilities of making better decisions will increase.

  • It will pave way for equality

The American Academy for girls in Dubai believes that education is the key to making women take up positions of equality with their counterparts in society. Discrimination and inequality take root when a person or a group of people are deprived of their basic rights and are ill-informed. Thus, it is equally important for women to attain education the same as the men receive. Educating them promotes the idea of having an equal and developed society where everyone shares equal responsibilities and rights.

Summing it up

The motto today should be- education for all, all for education. Guarding the right to education for each and every person in the society will only pave better paths to lead us towards development and better beings. Women being an important part of the family should be educated to help education pass on to the coming generations. As they say, "If you educate a man, you educate a man. But if you educate a woman, you educate the whole nation".
