Are shipping container Homes cheap?

Shipping Container Rental is an exciting opportunity for artists from the art community. As a result of a recently established grant app up to four artistic artists will be taking more transport containers put up around downtown Grand Rapids, which makes their imaginative work a sexy focal point for town. Artists will use these container houses to exhibit their art during the months of May through August. The container homes will soon be available to rent by the month or a complete year, based on the grant that the artist receives. In addition, many of these artistic entrepreneurs will be working closely with local companies to provide free space in which to exhibit their products. Art enthusiasts can visit Pure Michigan, situated in West Oakland, to learn more about applying for this funding. The notion of using shipping containers as a stage for traveling road artwork comes out of artist Chad Timothy's desire to make an experience that looks like a cross between a gallery and a street fair. "The container was a blank canvas," he explained. "We painted it, whatever came to mind." Along with housing his street art gear, Tim also serves as the event's organizer, responsible for coordinating the various aspects of the day-a pre-show assembly, an opening reception and post-show activities like picture shoots. Visitors can satisfy the four artists working to alter shipping containers with free tours throughout the months of May through August. Another artist included with the grand rapids' shipping container revitalization effort is Michigan established artist Gabrielle Reece. She will be transforming shipping containers used from the Grand Rapids Area Development Corporation as part of its street arts program into beautiful works of permanent street art. Along with her art, the development corporation will utilize the spaces to house low-cost tables and offices. The hope is not only to lease a shipping container, but to find a way for the artist to carry out his art. He sees it as an opportunity to discuss some of his imaginative vision with other people and a way for him to showcase his own songs. "That really is my most exciting moment in artistic creation, I think," he states. "I can't wait to show it off at home or anywhere we go. It is such a liberating feeling." He's"I'd love to see people take advantage of what we're doing in terms of promoting the arts." For more details check out Pure Michigan.
