Organising a Soccer Tournament in Thailand

Like all the other parts around the world, Thailand too has a huge following and enjoy watching English football very much. There are numerous reasons why they enjoy it much more than their own country s other national sports. One is the English football international break and hundreds of different football teams and clubs to choose from. The EFL is an international football competition which started way back in 1992. It was first launched in Europe and America, but within a few years it was expanded to Asia and Australia as well. This means that there are already hundreds of teams from across the globe who have made it to the World Cup tournament. Asia is one of the fastest growing footballing countries today with millions of football fans. This is why the competition for places in the World Cup tournaments is so fierce. The Asian Football Association (AFA) has therefore made it their mission to promote football in Asia and make it a major part of the football family there.

For this purpose the Association set up the Asian Football Federation (AFC) and gave out championships to different countries in the region. Countries like Malaysia, Singapore, China, Thailand and others joined together under the AFA to form the AFA Asia. The first tournament was the Asian Football Federation Cup and since then the competition has grown to even bigger competitions. As a member of the AFA, Thailand is able to promote its football and promote the sport in the country just like any other country around the world.

Another footballing association which has made a name for itself in Asia is Klub Switzerland. The Klub is a huge multi national organisation which organises football competitions in different countries. These competitions are open to national associations and clubs from any country and the qualification process for playing in these tournaments is very tough but not impossible. In addition to that, the Klub also organises the Olympic Games, which is a very popular sports event in Asia and showcase the sport to the whole world.

Last but not least on the list of footballing organisations in Asia are the Southeastern United football (SUN) club. The club played its first season back in 1988 and went through a long spell without a championship win until the present day. They have a strong fan base in Asia and are extremely popular and can be found supporting their teams wherever they go. Even though the club has not won the championship for the last three years, it has become known as one of the most successful and well equipped football clubs in Asia and the Ligue 1.

There is always a lot of room for football in Thailand and the lopsided rivalry between various Thai clubs is huge. The LFA (rative) has been formed to cater for the needs of Thai footballers and there are already talks of a second tier competition set up in 2021. This means that competition will be even more intense between the lower league clubs and so it will be an exciting time for football fans in Thailand and the rest of Asia. It is hoped that the growth and success of the sport in Thailand will encourage other nations to create similar competitions in the near future. Some have already expressed interest and there is talk of a tournament in Kuwait in 2021.
