Feel a New Sense of Style with Customised T-shirts

Custom shirts give you the ability to design your clothing in the exact way you want them to look and fit. Classic T-shirts are cut the same way, although there are subtle differences in the way women's and men's shirts are shaped and designed. T-shirts are the type of clothing that will never go out of style and staying in trend is only a matter of selecting the right style that best suits your body type and your personality. Classic T-shirts are great closet staples and just because they never go out of style, does not mean you can't update your own shirts to make them more in-tune with today's fashion. Having your clothes custom-made is one of the best ways to keep something as simple as a T-shirt in trend.

There are major differences you will find when shopping for or designing a custom women's or men's classic T-shirt. A guy's shirt, for example is shaped like a straight-up letter T when laid out flat while women's shirts are curvier. When having T-shirts customised, here are design details you should remember:

  • The sleeves on guy's shirts are ordinarily longer, although there are people who like them a bit shorter. Typically, however, they go down to the top of the elbow, with shoulders sloping slightly down from the collar. The sleeves slope from the shoulder down to the hem. This type of cut makes the neck, shoulder, and bicep areas feel more comfortable. Women's shirts on the other hand, tend to have shorter sleeves that go just above the bicep or slightly longer, ending at the forearm. The fit more snugly and both lengths can be flattering on most women.
  • The tailoring on the shirt's torso is also different between a man and a woman's shirt. The torso of a guy's shirt is traditionally a straight vertical, although others prefer a v-shaped cut, particularly those with a more athletic shape. Women's shirts on the other hand, are tapered at the waist area, and then flared at the hips, so the shape follows the body's natural curves. This creates a better fitted look, eliminating the excess fabric that often bulk and bunch at the waist.
  • Lastly, women's shirts have extra room for the bust area, which is why they come with a hint of an hourglass figure when laid flat, as opposed to men's shirts that are a straight capital T.
