One of The most sacred pilgrimages of Lord Shiva is Kedarnath. It is located in the Garhwal area of Rudraprayag district in Uttarakhand and thousands of pilgrims visit this place every year to seek Lord Shiva's blessing. It is one of the Char Dhams in Uttarakhand and is considered among the Panch Kedar to be the most important Dham. At an altitude of 3586 meters, this holy pilgrimage is located in the mesmerizing backdrop of majestic mountains near the beautiful Mandakini River. One of Lord Shiva's twelve Jyotirlingas stands in the Kedarnath range.

Ways to Reach Kedarnath/Temple

1. BY ROAD KEDARNATH TOUR

One can opt for bus services, private taxis or you can also rent a self-driven car to reach Kedarnath by road. There are different ways that you can choose according to your comfort and convenience. However, if you're coming from Delhi, take a direct bus from ISBT Kashmiri Gate, which is operated by Uttarakhand Transport Corporation, to Gaurikund, and then you can continue your trek. The same goes for taxis and self-driven cars as you have no other choice from Gaurikund as you literally have to trek or you can opt for Palki service or Kandi & Mule/Ponies. At Gaurikund/ Sonprayag, anyone can book these services.

2. BY AIR KEDARNATH TOUR

Yeah, you can also reach Kedarnath by air and it's also very soothing. So, if you want to miss the tiring trek, you can simply decide to enter Kedarnath by air by booking a helicopter ticket for yourself. Helicopter services from Dehradun, Haridwar, and Rishikesh are available.

From Dehradun: You have to drive to Shastradhara Helipad in Dehradun if you want to take the helicopter service from Dehradun, and then the helicopter will drop you at your destination in just 40 minutes.

From Haridwar/Rishikesh: You need to travel via taxi to Phata to take the helicopter service from Haridwar/Rishikesh and then you can board the helicopter to Kedarnath.

STUFF TO KEEP IN MIND BEFORE GOING FOR A KEDARNATH TRIP 

1. Stuff to keep in mind before going for a trek to Kedarnath
2. Prior to moving on the Kedarnath trek, get the checkup completed
3. Before proper consultation with a doctor, people with heart, respiratory, and blood pressure issues should not take the trek.

4. If you are willing to fly by Palki, Kandi and Ponies, make sure you have made a prior booking at the booking counter at Gaurikund/Sonprayag.

5. Take note of the time of the trek as you can only trek from 4 AM to 1.30 PM after pilgrims are not permitted to trek to Kedarnath OR You can opt for Palki or Ponies to reach the destination in case you are unable to cover the trek until late evening or you can simply take a rest in the camps nestled at Chatti, Bheem Bali, and Linchauli.
