Introduction to Oracle Database 21c New Update Now Available On Oracle Cloud

Oracle has introduced Oracle Database 21c “cloud-first” on Oracle Cloud for Database Cloud Service (Virtual Machine and Bare Metal) and Always Free Autonomous Database Service in some regions. However, It is yet to be released for on-premise and other cloud services.

Beginning with Prophet Data set 20c and now in Prophet Information base 21c, a multitenant holder data set is the solitary upheld design from this point forward. In the past deliveries, Prophet upheld non-holder data sets (non-CDBs), yet they are not, at this point upheld from 20c onwards.

CDBs: Compartment Data sets

A CDB contains at least one PDBs made by clients and application compartments. At the actual level, a CDB is a bunch of documents: control record, online re-try log records, and information documents.

PDBs: Pluggable Data sets

A PDB is a compact assortment of compositions, diagram objects, and non-outline protests that appears to an application as a different data set. The CDB incorporates all the information records for the PDBs contained inside it and metadata for the CDB itself.

To move or file a PDB, you need to unplug it first. An unplugged PDB comprises of the PDB information documents and a metadata record. An unplugged PDB should be connected to a CDB before you can utilize it.
