The greatest advantage of online education is you can join any university or institute of your choice without having to physically travel to the university or the institution. This saves a great deal on traveling cost, accommodation expenses and other related expenses. Students can now study from the comforts of their home. They can pursue their studies along with the job. Online education is the best recourse for work from home moms and for people who have passed the student age, as they often feel shy to study with youngsters. There are several options open in online education that are not available in traditional colleges. Some of the examples are Internet marketing, launching your own product, creating information product and many more. Points to be remembered while joining an online school: 1.Check the credentials of the school or college. Do they offer traditional education in addition to online education? 2.Since how long is the school offering online education 3.What are the facilities offered by the online school? Are they offering their resources by way of online library, forums etc? 4.Check the requirements/ documents asked for by the school or college. Certain schools need non US students to attach GRE or TOEFFL mark sheet with the application form. 5.Ensure that the application form is filled in full, with all the necessary documents attached. Always submit the application before the deadline. 6.Check the duration of the course. Some schools are ready to offer degree within 15 days to a month. Beware of such institutions, as you may get the degree, which may have no value, and most importantly, you will not acquire any knowledge. One of the things that you miss in online education is the class environment. In traditional education system, you get to learn a lot from others in your group. Secondly, you will have fixed working hours and you can instantly get your doubts clarified from the faculty. This may not happen in online education. However, this shortcoming can be overcome by participating in group discussion through forums and message board, joining the chat room discussion with the other students and so on.
