Association football, more famously known as football or American football, is a well-known team sport generally played between two sides of eleven players each. It is played professionally by about 250 million players throughout more than 200 different countries and dependencies, which make it the most popular sport in the world. The names of some of the most notable players who have graced the footballing world include legends Pele and Maradona, and current players David Beckham and Wayne Rooney. It has developed a strong international following and is the second most attended contact sport in the entire world after football. It enjoys a worldwide following and is a very popular sport in the United States.

Official rules of Association football are very simple and direct. The ball is usually larger than regulation size and is yellow in color. Each side has five players on each side, with two goalkeepers on each team and the remaining goalkeeping staff included as well. Half time is usually about 15 minutes; overtime if necessary is permitted. The FA Cup is the most popular cup series in English football history, and the FA Cup final is also known as The FA Cup Final, commonly abbreviated as The FA Cup. The FA Cup final is played annually, and the winners qualify for the Super League Championship. The fourth round of fixtures is known as "the round of four". Each round features four games, and the winner takes on the team from their position in the table, which is then decided by a draw. The semi-finals and beyond also take place in the fourth round. The FA Cup is currently playing through the fifth round.
