Association football, also known as football, is a competitive team game played between two geographically-diverse teams of eleven players each. It is played by more than 250 million people in more than 200 nations and dependencies, making it the most popular sport in the world. Football is not only a popular sport but a way of life for many people across the globe. In its most basic terms, football means "tennis," but the word has various other meanings depending on the country where it is spoken.

Traditionally, football is played between two teams on an oval field using a rectangular ball. Since its inception, the game has undergone numerous changes and innovations. The original game was made up of twelve players on each team; however, today's teams play with fifteen to twenty players on each side. Goals are scored by throwing the ball over the goal line, บอลเด็ด or using any object kicked from the playing team's side of the field. Depending on the rules of the game, extra equipment may be allowed.

Association football is played on an oval or circular field with three interchangeable goals -a starting goal, a goal against the opposing team, and a penalty kick. Each player on each team is allowed a football uniform that covers the torso and legs; the wearing of these uniforms helps to distinguish players on either team.

During the Industrial Revolution in England, the beginnings of the modern game were built around the manufacturing of leather boots. The popularity of the game increased during the Industrial Revolution when workers found it difficult to sustain their footballing skills due to the hot and humid conditions during the day. In 18 72, football first became organized, with the formation of the Football Association of England. A year later the Football Association was formally created, and football games played regularly for the first time in the Exhibition Matches, which was held throughout the UK.

FIFA is the governing body of international football. Every country that is a member of the association football of the countries concerned has its own national association football. The process of picking the teams for international tournaments is based on a points system. The main article of association football is based on four groups of rankings. The rankings are decided by a panel of experts who are appointed for each of the four groups of rankings, which are the qualification process, group draw, quarter finals and the final.
