The Milan City Bus Tour

The city of Milan is one of the most popular tourist locations in Europe. Aside from being a central hub of the European fashion world, it is also one of the oldest cities in Italy. There are a number of sightseeing options and tours available for reasonable costs. One option is the double decker city bus tour that will take you and your travel partners to some of the key sites in Milan. This is also a good way to get an idea of where things are located in the city before you go out sightseeing on your own.

Tickets for the bus tour range in price, but can usually be purchased for around 20 Euros. Most tours begin at a famous tourist attraction such as the Piazza Castello and end at another famous sight where you will have more time to look around once you are there. Milan City Tour's running time takes about 75 to 90 minutes depending on which route you choose. You do not have to book tours in advance. Simply show up at Piazza Castello and purchase a ticket on site. The tour runs every 45-minutes to an hour throughout the day, so you have the option of multiple timetables should you wish to explore the piazza once you arrive.

The tour operates in multiple languages including most European ones such as Italian, Spanish, German, Portuguese and French. Russian and Japanese commentaries are also available as is English. The tour runs throughout the year with the exception of Christmas and New Years Day making it a very popular tour guide option for those on a short holiday or traveling with a limited budget.

There are two routes to choose from, Line A and Line B. Line A follows the ring of the city centre and crosses over most of the city's canals. On the tour you will see the Duomo cathedral and the La Scala Opera House. You will also visit the stunning and enchanting Castello Sforzesco which remains one of the oldest and most beautiful fortresses in the city of Milan. Both tours visit these sites though Line B offers a slightly extended version of the tour taking visitors a short distance outside the central ring to see such places as Corso Garibaldi and Corso Buenos Aires.
