Overcoming Procrastination - Are You a Recovering Procrastinator?Posted by Hosanna on February 27th, 2021 Overcoming procrastination, particularly in your MLM home business, can be a difficult task at best, and for some, a near impossible task. But I'm here to tell you it can be done, because I'm a recovering procrastinator myself. Although it may be challenging, if you can overcome procrastination, the rewards in your business and your life will be well worth the effort. To help you get started on the road to recovery, we're going to share one of our mentor's insights on overcoming procrastination. Jeffery Combs, President of Golden Mastermind Seminars, Inc. is an internationally recognized speaker, trainer, and author, and is an absolute authority on how to overcome procrastination, something that stops many would be internet marketers before they even get started! So we're going to share a real condensed version of just a small portion of what we learned from Jeffery Combs on how to overcome procrastination, and how this information can benefit you. We'll start with Jeffery's definition of procrastination: "delaying a project, task or an intended course of action despite expecting to feel guilt or shame for the delay. Procrastination always leads to guilt, shame and disappointment." So why is that such a concern for us as network marketers? Procrastination creates financial challenges, enhances health risks, hinders relationships and it ends many careers. It is a way to avoid pain, failure, mistakes, and judgment. In other words, procrastination can wreak real havoc on your life and your MLM home business, which makes overcoming procrastination a worthwhile and extremely beneficial goal. So are you learning to overcome procrastination? Are you a recovering procrastinator? That's what Jeffery calls someone who is addressing the areas in his or her life where procrastination is a problem, and if you're not Overcoming Procrastination in every area of your life, you NEED to be. You see, you're really not "a procrastinator," you simply procrastinate in isolated areas that you see as painful. Here's one of the examples of how procrastination can affect your MLM home business that Jeffery used to make the point clear. When you finally have qualified leads in your hands, do you call them? Through the ability you have to create relationships using the internet, people can come to feel they know you well, and even trust you, but the majority still won't be able to make the decision to join you without some direction from you. You have to pick up the phone and CALL your leads. Although a very few will join you because of the great job you did building a relationship with them on the internet, most of those you've attracted to your funnel will have to actually be CLOSED by you in order to add them to your team or make a sale. That means making that call! That means overcoming procrastination, and the things that cause you to procrastinate, and doing what needs to be done! And that's just one of the areas where procrastination can have a devastating effect on your MLM home business, one of the areas that can be dramatically improved simply by overcoming procrastination. We control the outcome of not failing by being a procrastinator - if we never actually engage, we won't get rejected and therefore we can't fail. If we keep getting ready to get ready and never actually launch, we're burning up our most valuable commodity - time. If you don't turn time into money, then you're turning time into NO money, and that is called procrastination! The great news is that you too can become a recovering procrastinator. You CAN overcome procrastination, and I am living proof. We stress in our teachings that if you change your thinking, you'll change your behavior.
