Whenever times get tight, the firstcasualties of budget cuts usually have something to do with eithereducation or the arts. Schools and libraries are often the ones Plastic Table Mould Made In China thatget the worse treatment, getting the short end of the stick over andover again. With tight budgets, it becomes difficult to not just buynew books, but replace the old ones, especially paperbacks that don'tlast nearly as long as a hardcover book. However, libraries (bothpublic and school) can get some help from Powis Parker Fastback. AFastback machine makes it possible for libraries to repair paperbacks,so they can save time and money. This article will look at the ways inwhich libraries can benefit from having access to a Fastback machine. Trade paperback books are awesome.

They are lightweight, portable, often have better cover art than the hardcover edition, and they'reinexpensive. A large part of their appeal for both readers andlibrarians is the fact that paperbacks are so inexpensive, especiallywhen compared to their hardcover counterparts. However, because they'reinexpensive, paperbacks just can't hold up to repeated handling the waya hardcover book can. This is because after a paperback has been readseveral times, the book can start losing pages and then the cover andspine start separating. The reason for this is because the book blockisn't pressed fully into the glue during binding. However, you can fixthis problem with your Fastback machine. Here's how!

Set aside the brand new books so your patrons andstudents can't read the books before they've been through the Fastbackmachine.

Turn on your Fastback machine and put it inediting mode. Don't let the word "editing" scare you. You're not goingto be adding or removing any pages. All you'll be doing is heating upthe book's glue so you can use it again.

After yourmachine has fully warmed up, you are ready to get started. Put one ofthe books in the machine's throat. (Depending on the size of the booksand the model of your machine, you might be able to work with two booksat once.) Press the machine's start button to have the editing modekick in. This will cause your Fastback machine to heat up the glue.

When the editing cycle is complete, remove the book and firmly tap thespine on a hard surface. This will make the book block settle down inthe glue.

After your books have cooled off, they can beused again by students and other bookworms. That's all there is to it.And it's pretty good that this process only takes a couple of minutesand will increase a book's lifespan by 50% or so.

If youhave other books with loose covers, you can follow this same process tofix them. You can also rebind books with missing pages with PerfectBackstrips or using the tape binding function of your Fastback machine.
