It is also important to understand that growing kids not only need to eat snacks during the day. They also need to have some slight snack before bedtime. Kids experiencing growth spurts can easily deplete the nutrients they ate during the day.

Therefore, you need to give your kid a light snack 45 minutes before his bedtime. This will give the food enough time to settle before he falls asleep.

Preferably, this bedtime snack should be rich in protein and carbohydrate. Protein will keep him felling full, and carbohydrate will boost his serotonin production.

Remember to give him only a light snack. It is designed to tide him over for the night and also to induce him to sleep.
