How to become an IAS Officer in India

About IAS Examination-

IAS Officer is the dream career for millions of aspirants in the country. The full form of IAS is Indian Administrative Service. It is one of the hardest competitive exams in India. It is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) for all types of Indian Civil service exams. After cracking the IAS exam, the role of an officer is to manage various administrative matters of the Government. The job of an IAS officer includes supervising the implementation policies of the Central Government and State Government, collecting revenues as courts in revenue matters, maintaining laws and orders, and handling the daily affairs of the Government. For becoming an IAS officer, a candidate must qualify the three stages- Prelims, Mains, and Interview. 

Qualification and Age-Criteria- 

An aspirant must complete a bachelor’s degree in any stream from any recognized university. If a candidate has appeared for the final exam and is waiting for the results, he/she can apply for the Prelims exam because the degree is important to be attached with the application form of the Mains exam. Candidates having technical and professional qualifications from any recognized university can also apply for the exam. The minimum age is required to appear in this exam is 21 years and the maximum age is 32 years.
