CPA Exam Study Tips and Tricks

We all understand that the US CPA Exam consists of four sections – AUD, BEC, FAR, and REG – in which each section is made up of difficult questions and topics that primarily touch on different elements of accounting, from tax law to financial accounting and more.

While there’s a lot to learn, it’s entirely possible to pass each section on your first try with a proper study plan, effective study materials, and adequate study time.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

Develop a Daily Routine:

Whether you are preparing for an exam or a college student or still in school, before starting your professional career, or while working full-time, it is so essential to develop a designated study routine. Set your goals clear – plan your routine and do a definite number of questions per day, complete SIMs, or even commit to studying consistently a day.

Practice Does Make You Perfect:

Make sure to focus on your “weak areas” by practicing MCQs and completing SIMs every day. The more you present yourself to the weaker study areas, the more practice you do, the closer you get to that passing score.

Treat Yourself:

When you study for the US CPA exam which is now in India, you may feel like there is no end in sight. Make sure after you take one section of the US CPA exam, treat yourself to your favorite meal, plan a fun night with your friends, or spend a relaxing day watching series and movies. After spending some time for yourself, it is much more comfortable to get back into the groove of studying for the next section of the US CPA exam.
