Pest Control and Mice

Since the spread of towns, cities and businesses, the original habitat of the common mouse has been encroached upon. Pest Control London rolling hills where mice once lived (well, they still do, but there are less rolling hills now) have created the 'opportunity' for them to find food and housing within man-made dwellings. One could say that some mice populations have now become dependent on humans for his or her sustenance. Flourishing cities, once established, has cause mice to migrate in droves and be permanently settled. For this reason, mice have brought with them a host of problems for people; within their homes and places of business. A Little History of Mice and General Population Both mice and rats have played big roles in the times of yore because the well-known stories of death and disease may also be attributed to them. For instance, the Black Death of London in 1665 is one such calamity in the annals of mankind that is linked to the large populations of mice and rats. Back then, pest control for mice consisted of people hunting them down, trapping them and burning the carcasses. But, instead of being able to eradicate them, their population numbers grew. Mice vs. Rats Common house mice could be in the same way dangerous as their cousins, the all too notorious rat. While in your house, mice and rats can munch on your meal, gnaw at electrical wiring and household fixtures while also transferring diseases to humans. The Importance of Pest Control for Mice These very common house mice can produce approximately 50 young every year. These large numbers of mice and the growth of their population while in your home easily illustrate the significance of pest control for mice. Since mice produce rapidly, their population should be contained quickly, or at least before they become uncontrollable. Pest Control in the U.S. In the United States there are numerous pest control companies and many different techniques for handling pests, pest control and especially eradication of mice from homes and business. Some methods include the use of chemicals (mostly since it is quick and effective), however, many also use the technique of trapping as a way to ree your home, office or business of rodents in mere a couple of days. Some people opt to try and control pests by themselves, forgoing the cost of hiring a pest control company. Though, hiring a pest control company is suggested predicated on their extensive experience and past successes. But, for those who choose to try to eradicate homes and offices by themselves, the nice ole mouse trap can be an option. Whether it's effective or not depends mostly on its design and placement. Experiences and research shows that mouse traps that contain an expanded trigger could catch more mice than the traditional, standard mouse trap. It's understandable and many would concur that using food as your bait is an efficient means of greatly increasing the probability of catching a mouse -- of course as a home-brewed approach to pest control.
