RTO consultants ensure training organisations run effectively

Training organisations are vital and an RTO compliant organisationis the one who will gain success, for both the organisation and the students. A registered training organisation, RTO, must be RTO-compliant, and have staff or RTO consultants who are fully qualified and able to ensure that the necessary policies and procedures are always carried out. Most registered training organisations have an RTO officer that is permanently employed by them, ensuring that compliance is always adhered to and that students know who to turn to, when in need.

Anyone who works for an RTO will understand the importance of compliance. Staying compliant is not a one-off thing and an RTO consultant must be properly trained. The procedure for students should be clear, without any grey areas.

Enrolments

For students an enrolment stage includes all forms of communication, ensuring that students of RTO understand their rights and that all information is clear and available for them. Students must understand the entry requirements, the course title and what is entailed in the course, have the address of the venue, understand how delivery must be completed, and be made aware of all support services.

Students of RTOs

The idea behind an RTO is that all students are aware of the course that they are doing, that they understand what is expected of them, how to get support if it is needed, and what exactly is needed to pass. It is up to the RTO to ensure the students understand all the systems and that if they do not, there is a body that they can go to for support and advice.

An RTO needs to show they have implemented the correct procedures to help all students, that all students understand policies and that if they have issues, they know where to go.  It is vital that an RTO has RTO systems secured in place, with an RTO officer, and perhaps more than one officer, ensuring that the systems are clear.

Set up of an RTO

Each RTO has a different setup and you need to check what is needed of your specific training organisation, legally. It is not only the legalities that are important, although all RTO regulations must be strictly adhered to. It is the RTO that instils confidence in students and give them the knowledge that they know what they are doing or studying, and how they are doing this. Consultants or officers have an important role to play in registered training organisations and often lead to the success or failure of the organisation. It is therefore up to the organisation to ensure the RTO officers are fully trained and can pass this information on to all students.
