What to do if you get indications of a Heart Attack?

A heart attack is often accompanied by a range of signs, some of which include but not limited to having a feeling of some heavy object on your chest with sweating alongwith pain in the arm and jaw, shortness of breath, dizziness etc.

If any of these symptoms persists, please obtain immediate medical help from your nearest medical centre.

What To Do in case of indication of Heart Attack?

In case you happen to experience any of the symptoms of a heart attack, need to get immediate medical help as the delay could cause irreversible heart damage.

Some of the heart attack symptoms are provided below for reference:

Chest Pain radiating down the left arm and upto the neck
The foremost indicator is Chest pain that could be felt behind the breastbone, as if someone has put weight there. If the pain radiates to the neck, jaw and left arm lasting more than a few minutes, get medical help as soon as possible.

Sweating and difficulty in breathing normally 

During a heart attack, the body's defence mechanism (sympathetic nervous system) produces sweat often with chest pain and may be accompanied by difficulty to breathe, pain in the jaws and arms etc. as the heart is not able to pump enough blood.

Palpitations

A peron could also feel a sensation of heart pounding in the neck region and not just the chest, this symptom is known as Heart palpitation, which creates a sense of anxiety. Most often, this symptom may not be associated with cardiac arrest.

If a person experiences any of the aforesaid symptoms of heart attack, prompt reaction is needed to get emergency medical services. The patient should not drive to the hospital even if feeling fit enough to drive, as it could further worsen the chest pain.
