Have you ever attempted to attain a target but attained mediocre results?

Perhaps you have seen other men and women reach their goals effortlessly and wonder how they do that?

That is where skills development comes in. In this informative article, I share more about skills development, why it's an important part of goal achievement, and how to go about doing it.

It's important because your skills determine your capability to execute your aims with achievement.

Imagine a carpenter seeking to construct a home. He has, however, a flimsy hammer and a tiny screwdriver. Without the right tools such as a hand saw, he can't turn those raw materials into home building pieces.

It's exactly the same with goal achievement. In goal accomplishment, your abilities are the resources. The house is your goal. As you want the right tools to construct a home, you need the right skills to build your objective. Without the right skills, you may just frustrate yourself, waste your time, and spend a lot of time coping with fundamental issues brought on by the lack of knowledge or lack of skills, as opposed to progressing in your objective. While difficulty and struggle is a part and parcel of any goal pursuit, without the right skills, you find yourself struggling more than required. Worse still, this battle is unconstructive and doesn't help you move forward.

Yet, why is skills development failed?

There are 2 big reasons:

Firstly, individuals tend to be impressed with what others have achieved without understanding what they went through to get there. vocational training and skill development see their accolades and victories, and also make gross assumptions about what it takes to be successful. We become frustrated when we try the goal, only to find out that it's not quite as easy as it seems.

This is very typical in blogging. Believing that it's easy, and perhaps perpetuated from the claims of said gurus who happen to market you courses claiming to help you do the same, these folks start blogging as well, hoping to attain the very same results in a short period of time. They become rudely awakened when they do not even get a trickle of traffic following a couple of months, much less make an income. Some press on; many give up.

We look at how successful others are -- the top coaches, internet gurus, award-winning performers, winners of the society -- and conclude that we can never achieve the same. We feel that these people are blessed with some particular power that we don't have. I often have customers who say they want to attain XYZ target, but after seeing very recognized people in the area, feel confident about their abilities. Then they wonder,"What makes me think that I can succeed? I should just give up because these individuals are so nice and experienced. Who can I compete?"

Yet, it is about skills advancement . What we see as"talent" in others is the result of their 10,000 hours of challenging labour where raw fire and human capacity are turned into hard abilities. Skills development is the place we turn from beginner to novice, to intermediate, to senior, to expert. And henceforth, acquiring the capability to conquer our goal.
