Is It Better To Get A New iPhone Or Get An Old One Repaired?

Apple is one of the most famous and wanted brands of our time. It is considered to be a pioneer in mobile technologies and is credited with being the first in many categories. The famed creator of the iPhone gives you a tough time when it comes to phone repairs.

Here Are Some Reason Why Its Better To Get A New iPhone Than Repair One

  1. Lack Of Skilled Technicians

Like many tech companies, Apple for security and quality assurance purposes keeps things tightly wrapped. The process to become an Apple-certified technician involves a gruelling backing ground and qualification check.  The selection process has one of the highest rejection rates. The chosen few who by chance get through the training process charge a hefty fee. Even after you become a certified technician Apple keeps a strict check on you. From time to time the company sends undercover agents disguised as customers to check your work.

Besides the above-mentioned thing, the terms and condition under which you must operate are very strict. The slightest violation of these terms can result in the cancellation of your certification and can even get you permanently blacklisted. If you get blacklisted there is nothing you can do to get recertified. Hence Resulting in all your hard work going down the drain.

  1. The Lack Of Proper Tools Kit Needed For Repairs

The tool kit needed to repair an iPhone is so unique that you can't find them anywhere in the market and can only be bought from Apple. Once your certification gets cancelled or you reach the end of your service contract you must return the tools back to them.

Despite being provided with the relevant tools and being certified you can't do any kind of internal repairs. The tools are so unique and different from the standard tools that you need special machines to make them. Even if you manage to get your hands on this machine the cost to produce the tools will surely give you a run for the hills.

  1. Lack Of Original Parts

To ensure quality and preserve its tech Apple doesn't provide original iPhone parts to anyone irrespective of reputation or how strong the business is. As a result of this iPhone users often go through hell when trying to get their phones fixed. Even if the user manages to find Apple-certified iPhone repair technicians the repair cost more than the phone itself.

The lack of availability of parts provides scammers and criminals with a chance to cash in on the situation. A majority of the business claiming to provide original iPhone or Apple parts often scavenge them from broken or discarded iPhones and Apple products. While others refurbish these products and resell them as originals.

In 2019 two Chinese foreign exchange students studying engineering at an American university conned Apple out of millions of dollars. One student would buy an iPhone and send it back to China will at the same time the other student imported an exact replica of the phone from there. Then one student would go to an Apple store and claim that the product was faulty .the employees according to Apple policies would exchange the faulty product with a new one. The newly received iPhone would get sent back to China again and get sold for twice or thrice the original value. The entire operation was conducted with the help of family members living in China. The profits gained would then be split amongst all the participants. Apple after sending a repeated warning to the students and their family finally got the authorities involved resulting in their prosecution.

Then in another incident, a Chinese businessman somehow manages to replicate various iPhone parts for sale. This venture lasted for quite some time costing Apple millions of dollars.

  1. Shipment Costs

Apple is an international company with headquarters on all continents but its repair centres are located in selected areas only. As a result of this, the repair cost in some parts of the world is very high. In other words, it's better to get a new iPhone rather  than getting your old one repaired

  1. Fake Agent

you can find an iStore or Apple store nearly everywhere around you. Some people in an attempt to make a quick buck often disguise themselves as authentic Apple or iStore owners. They use this cover to sell fake, refurbished or stolen iPhones in their original packing at the original price.

Despite taking strict action against many people fake Apple store owners still manage to con other thereby costing Apple millions of dollars each year.

  1. Availability Of Parts

Apple is one of the most expensive mobile phone brands in the world. As a result, there are many places where people due to the poor economy or lack of infrastructure prefer not to use e brands like iPhones.

Instead, they prefer to use an alternative brand that suits their economics and provides them with a good service at a reasonable price. This in return has an indirect effect on the availability of parts. Vendors or repairmen prefer to sell and keep parts of those phones which are in the running. So if your iPhone breaks down in one of those places you'll probably be iPhone-less for a long time.

To conclude it's better to get a new iPhone in most cases rather than getting the old one fixed. This will not only save you time and money but will also prevent you from mental fatigue or separation anxiety most people suffer.
