It is a great way to explain what makes them unique and why they have decided to focus on certain aspects of social change. This first job is to instill awareness among the public. If nonprofits rely on traditional forms of advertising like TV, radio, and magazines, they need to think more creatively to attract a broad range of audiences. The emergence of the internet has changed the landscape dramatically. For example, it is now easier than ever for anyone to reach millions of people with the help of the internet. In addition to reaching audiences across the globe, some organizations are using the internet to strengthen their presence in traditionally underrepresented communities. This strategy can be useful when building a network of black women social change agents, for example. A social change agency often takes an initial stance on an issue, makes a series of recommendations, and then recommends actions to make that situation better. However, technology departments should also participate actively in this process. Technology departments should provide training to staff on issues such as Internet safety. These training sessions should incorporate Internet safety principles into day-to-day activities so that these principles will be embedded into the employees' culture. For example, many nonprofit groups encourage people of all ages to use conference calls because it allows everyone to participate, no matter their background or gender.
