A Guide to Renting Nissan Forklifts

Nissan forklifts are workhorses and can be used for a variety of tasks in manufacturing plants, warehouses, lumber yards, distribution centers and other locations. You can use them for loading and unloading stuff, but you’ll get maximum production if you get the best forklift for the situation.

Nissan Forklifts Capacity, Size and Load Weight

You have to determine first the size and load weight you will be using the forklift for, but this isn’t hard to figure out as they are classified by how much weight they can carry. Just like an electric pallet truck the capacity varies, ranging from 3000 lbs. to 35000 lbs. and higher for heavy duty use. In most cases however the forklifts in the 3000 lb. to 5000 lb. range will suffice, with the 5000 lb. regarded as the standard. That being said it really depends on what your needs are.

Fork load capacities are set upon a 24 inch load center so the distance from the gravity center to the load’s sides is 24 inches, and one way to visualize this is to consider that a forklift can haul up its max weight provided it is a 4-foot cube load. Similar to boltless shelving, knowing the specifics is essential to obtain maximum performance in any situation.

Nissan Forklift Height and Size

If you use forklifts mainly for unloading and loading in warehouses with high shelves, height will become a factor. Whereas load capacity can change quickly over time, that isn’t the case with height unless your warehouse will undergo construction soon. There’s no ideal specification of course as it depends on the dimensions of your shelves.

The size of the forklift can also be an issue so it’s worth considering as well. A typical lift truck needs an aisle that’s at least 11 feet wide to move around. A narrow electric pallet truck however, can move and turn in a 10 ft. wide aisle, and there are specially designed forklifts that are narrow enough to move in six feet wide aisles. These forklifts, known as narrow aisle (NA) and very narrow aisle (VNA) trucks, have the forks at right angles so they can move down an aisle and lift loads at the side.

There’s one more thing you have to consider, and that is the tires. Any forklift you buy must have tires that are appropriate for the environment. There are for instance, cushion tires that are designed for internal applications, and electric forklifts usually have these tires.

On the other hand there are Nissan Forklifts with pneumatic tires. These are filled with compressed air and more expensive than cushion tires because they’re meant for outdoor use. These are also recommended for lifting heavy loads outdoors.
