I'm sure you have heard of the phrase; "I can not help being an Activist". Well that is what it means to me. An Activist is someone who knows what they are doing and why. They do not sit back and wait for something to happen. They are out there making sure that something gets done and get it done right. They get into confrontations with big corporate interests and bring home the bacon. If you do not understand what an Activist does then ask a few of them. I guarantee you that they will tell you that they get out there and get things done. You see, they do not get paid to do that they do it because they love doing it and they get pleasure from standing up and speaking their mind. That is what being an Activist is all about. And what about all those politicians who tell us that we need to stick to the parties line and do nothing. Well, they must know something because that is exactly what they are doing. Sitting in their offices and telling us to be quiet and keep our mouths shut. That is a job for a lawyer not an Activist. I am sure you realize that I am not talking about lawyers only but the government also. Think on that. So, what is an Activist? Well that is a good question and the answer is rather simple. They are people who get politically active and do everything they can to make our world a better place and make sure that they at least make themselves well known. There are many ways to do this and one way is to become an independent news reporter. In fact that is what some people do and enjoy doing, reporting live from the streets and cities and speaking with civic leaders and elected officials from all over the world. Does agency like something you might be interested in doing? Well, it sounds like fun and maybe even a career. You will have to learn how to write well, you will have to learn how to interview well, and you will have to know how to produce great stories. You can find information on all of that online at your local library as well as through books and by attending news conferences. If you are considering doing this, I have only one advice for you. Get educated and become a news reporter. Do you know what is an Activist? Well, if you want to get arrested while doing your duty, you can't call yourself an Activist. If you want the world to know what is going on, you will have to come up with your own definition. But if you are joining a group, march in lock-step, or volunteer to help certain groups do what they do best, you are considered an Activist. In some cases you may even have to wear an Activist hat to prove your point. If you aren't happy with that, you can be an Actor, a Businessperson, or whatever you want to be. If agency want to learn what is an Activist, the best way to do it is to start doing it. Then when you become famous or otherwise famous, you can hire a publicist to help you out and define the Activist movement in the way that you want it defined.
