Dermal fillers treatment is a highly popular and demanded non-invasive aesthetic treatment. Dermal fillers are used for giving volume and fill up the sunken cheeks, thin lips and to treat deep lines and wrinkles. There are different kinds of dermal fillers available in the market which acts slightly different when injected into the skin. They also vary in the terms of their results, length of effects and what they are composed of. Therefore, it is very important for the aesthetic practitioners to get dermal filler training in injecting different kinds of dermal fillers so that they know which of them will give what kind of effect and what will be its side effects.

Kinds of dermal fillers

  • Collagen: It is natural dermal filler which is also found in human body. The major advantage of this filler is that it contains lidocaine which significantly reduces discomfort making it an ideal option for those people who have fear of pain. It has minimal negative reactions and is suitable for almost everyone. But a cosmetic doctor should get dermal filler training in order to know how to inject it correctly at different facial areas.
  • Hyaluronic acid: there are many different kinds of hyluronic acid based fillers which differ on the basis of their composition as well as the duration of their results. Restylane and Perlane are non-animal based dermal fillers which last slightly more than six months while Captique, a similar kind of product, lasts for about four months. Juvederm is another popular filler product that lasts for more than twelve months. In addition to these, there are other kinds of filler products, as well which are used to treat different levels of wrinkles and lines. It is essential that the dermal filler training should include the hands-on practice with different kinds of filler so that the aesthetic trainees well understand the difference in their injection and performance.
  • Semi-permanent fillers: Radiesse falls into the category of these fillers which is highly compatible for use with people because it is composed of a natural substance in body known as calcium hydroxyapatite. Though to achieve desired results, multiple injections may be required, but it gives results that last above two years. It helps in stimulating the natural production of body’s collagen but its side effect is that it causes more bruising and pain as compared to other kinds of fillers. Sculptra is another similar kind of product that is constituted with lidocaine and sterilized water before injection. It does not give immediate results due to presence of water. The results show up after two days following the treatment and lasts for more than two years with almost similar side effects as that of Radiesse. Therefore, proper dermal filler training is essentially required for injecting this kind of fillers as they can have severe side effects if injected incorrectly.

Dermal fillers give smooth, rejuvenated and naturally youthful appearance when injected correctly and with the right kind of fillers. For this, proper hands-on dermal filler training plays a pivotal role.
