The Last Night Prom: The Proms Return Festival Goes Live

The Last Night Prom the world’s first major classical music festival to be broadcast live. On the Radio Streaming concert, almost a century after they will have its 127th season live again. After a pandemic forced the 2020 season of recorded music.

From 30 July to 11 September, BBC-3 will be broadcast live every day. With most concerts.m from 19:30 BST (23:30 BST.m) and the festival returns to the 5,000-seat. Royal Albert Hall and Cadogan Hall to celebrate their 150th anniversary.

The Last Night Prom series, which first appeared on “The Promenade” in 1838. And was directed by Arthur Sullivan, was released in 1895, and became a BBC corporation in 1927.

The 2021 season will feature 52 concerts over a 44-day period, including 30 orchestras. And ensembles, more than 100 soloists and conductors, and more than 2,000 musicians. While the numbers are impressive, they are actually less than the usual 75 concerts in the eight-week season. The program is shorter than in recent years and some last less than an hour.

But the biggest mix of COVID and Brexit is the transformation from one of the richest international music. Festivals to an almost entire UK: only one of the 30 participating orchestras comes from abroad. The Mahler Chamber Orchestra from Germany: Mirga Granit-Tyla and Semion Bec are the only foreign conductors.

Some Highlights Of The Season:

To Vaughn Williams’s “Serenade Music” by Dalia Staceyfska’s BBC Symphony Orchestra. The show lasted less than an hour and included Planck’s Organ Concerto.

On the last night of the proms, tenor Stuart Skelton accordionist Ksenia Sidorova joined. The BBC Symphony Orchestra and Zachary Oramo in a short program by Kitty Lazarus. Thomas Arne, Edward Elgar, and Hubert Parry: as the traditional festival moved closer to Alderland’s synthesis and Britton’s anthem arrangement.
