Creative Impact, which counts former clients such as British Petroleum and Unilever, among its client list, has recently expanded its digital services, and hired Andrew Curry, former digital marketing director at The Boston Consulting Group to serve as its new VP of digital marketing. In an interview with Digital Marketing Association, Curry discussed his role at Creative Impact, his plans for the company, and what he looks for in a digital agency. "I've had a few years off from running my own agency, so this is a new chapter for me," Curry said. "There are lots of opportunities in the digital space, but I see a lot of opportunities to help smaller companies grow and be more nimble in their approach to digital. There's a big difference between owning a digital agency that works with a brand or product and a digital agency that works on digital only. Our focus is going to be on delivering great social media and digital marketing solutions to clients." In speaking with Curry, it seems like a job in creative impact agency would fit well with his background in digital marketing. He is most well known for developing digital marketing campaigns for clients like British Petroleum, whose clients have included both Shell and Conoco. Before taking over at Agencies UK, Curry worked for the British Department of Defense, where he developed a marketing campaign for the Armed Forces across the globe, according to the Daily Mail. Curry also spent six years at Google, where he served as a creative affairs manager. As one of the largest agencies in the UK, Curry says he wants to continue to provide his clientele with cutting-edge services. "We do everything possible to give our clients the best value for their marketing dollars. That means working with the latest digital marketing, social media and SEO technology, along with traditional marketing strategies such as print and TV advertising," he states. "We also do a lot of fun stuff like giving away marketing gadgets like pens and calendars on every corner of the city," he continued. An interesting bit of news that came out about the creative impact agency was that it plans to expand its business into four continents. "In Africa, we will be focusing on emerging markets, such as Kenya and Tanzania. We'll also be looking at Latin America, the Middle East and Eastern Europe," said Curry. "In Asia, we plan to expand into Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan." The agency says that this expansion will allow it to take on more clients in the new markets, while freeing up some of its traditional clients in the US, UK and Australia to continue building their social media and SEO businesses. Another service that the creative impact agency offers is its trademark PR service, which it says is designed to build your brand presence and help you gain visibility in the marketplace. "Our creative marketing experts work with our corporate PR and marketing departments to create a robust strategy that includes comprehensive coverage across the globe," the agency states on its website. "Their focus is on creating long-term partnerships with the best marketing companies in the industry." The agency also says it has a team of writers who specialize in writing for the Internet and are knowledgeable about search engine optimization. The agency is especially good at helping businesses gain online exposure. In other countries, the creative marketing agencies work with a range of industries from fashion to telecommunications and the leisure and hospitality industries. They handle all aspects of the promotion of brands, helping them launch successful marketing campaigns and use online and offline media to spread the word about their companies. Brand campaigns can include TV commercials, print ads, social media promotions and other interactive marketing campaigns.
