The 3 Best Winter Cocktails You've Been Missing Out On

Posted by aaarents on December 29th, 2015

With the passing of the winter solstice on December 21, winter is officially upon us. The days are shorter and colder and many of would like to switch up boring cocktails for libations that will warm the soul.

So we set upon scouring the net to bring you some cheery winter cocktail libations, and we found some amazing ones that will be the hit of all of your winter parties. The best part? These are so delicious you will want to make them the whole year through!

Peppermint Hot Chocolate - Admit it, hot chocolate is a guilty pleasure we all love no matter what time of the year it is. Add an ounce of peppermint schnapps to your mug, top with whip cream and stir with a candy cane for an extra delicious adult take on this classic favorite.

Cranberry Fizzy - This cocktail hails from Millesime's in New York City, and we can see why it is a favorite there! This makes one serving but can easily be doubled or tripled, or made in a big batch for a punch fit for a New Year's Eve bash! Add the first four ingredients to a shaker, shake well to infuse the mint flavor and then pour over ice in a glass. Top with the cranberry juice and soda and serve.

⁃ 1 1/2 oz Vodka

⁃ 3/4 oz Peach schnapps

⁃ 1/2 oz Lime juice

⁃ 8 Mint leaves, bruised

⁃ 3 oz Cranberry juice

⁃ 1 oz Club soda

Mulled Cranberry Mimosas for a Crowd

- 6-8 Cinnamon sticks

- 20 Cloves (whole)

- 20 Allspice berries (dried, whole)

- 3 Orange peels (Use a potato peeler, to get just the orange portion of the skin and none of the white pith, which will make it bitter!)

- 2 gallons 100 % Cranberry juice

Toast the cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice and orange peel in a heavy-bottomed pot for about 10-15 minutes, constantly stirring so they do not burn. When the orange peels get a dried look to them, add the two gallons of cranberry juice to the pot. Simmer just under a low boil for an hour, strain and then chill in the refrigerator until ready to use.

To make the mimosas, fill a champagne flute 1/3 of the way with the infused cranberry juice, and then fill with a dry champagne or sparkling wine. Enjoy!

Of course, what is a party without seating for guests to relax? Don't forget to look up party chair rentals in Santa Clarita so you can make certain your guests are comfortable!
