Sometimes people have lost their jobs or are feeling economically stressed. Other times people become activists because they believe it is the right thing to do for the environment, animals, children, or for social justice. No matter what your personal beliefs are, getting involved with how to become an activist can be a rewarding experience. First, we have found that 55.4 percent of activists have at least a bachelor's degree. When it comes to higher education degrees, found that 14.8 percent of activists have bachelor's degrees alone. While most activists already have some sort of college education, you can become one with just an associate's degree or even a diploma. With how to become an activist, you don't need a degree to start. However, there are a few jobs and training you will need before proceeding to the next level of activism. Once you learn all of this information, you are ready to get started. Learning how to become an activist also involves learning how to become an organizer. This consists of learning how to record audio, video, print, and distribute statements using a podium or megaphone. You will need to know how to get arrested, how to do research, how to get arrested for illegal activities, how to pick up weapons, how to avoid police, and how to bail out once you are in custody. Being an organizer, is a combination of knowing how to become an activist, knowing how to become an organizer, and understanding the importance of knowledge. It also consists of planning beforehand so that you have everything planned out before you go anywhere. Being prepared will help you relax when you get involved in any action. One way to learn how to become an activist is to study how to become an organizer at length. Get a degree in psychology, social work, or social sciences, and then pursue a masters or doctoral degree in this subject. You will be able to succeed as an organizer once you gain a certain amount of experience. After you finish college, you can start participating in local protests and organizing committees. If your ambition is to work within the halls of government, then you must be prepared to go to college to get a degree in politics or public policy. These programs take about two years to complete. You will learn how to become an activist while still studying. You may also choose to specialize in a certain issue, such as women's rights, racial rights, gay and lesbian rights, immigration, environmental issues, or a host of others. While in college, you can also learn how to become an organizer through public speaking. Public speaking is the art of making speeches to groups of people in order to influence them. Public speaking gives you the opportunity to influence people by speaking directly to them. You can also learn how to become an activist by spending time on campus as a guest speaker. Most colleges have programs that allow students to give a speech for free. This gives you the chance to learn how to become an organizer while making your presence known on campus. There are many ways to learn how to become an activist. The easiest is to simply start doing some volunteer work where you will be exposed to various movements and causes. As you become more knowledgeable, you can try joining an organization where you can make a difference. If you have the opportunity, you should consider going to college and learning how to become an organizer or political advocate.
