Tanning without Sun

Spray tanning and self-tanning are two types of sunless tanning. Both are simple. It's simply a matter of personal preference.

A slight mist is sprayed onto your body in a unique, automated booth or with a technician's handheld sprayer during spray tanning. Spray tanning treatments come in a variety of colors, from clear to bronzer tones. They can even have skincare advantages!

Self-tanning is the application of tanning products in the privacy of one's own home. Sprays, lotions, and mousse are among the self-tanning products available.

Booths vs. Handheld Spray Tanning

The nozzles in the private, automated booth spray a tanning solution all over your body (front and back). In a tanning or beauty salon, you'll usually strip down and enter the booth. But don't worry, no one is looking at you. Voice-guided instructions on what to do and how to stand to get the lightest tan are provided in booths. You can tan in a clear solution or with a bronzer, depending on your preferences.

The technician sprays you with the tanning solution using a handheld airbrush. The technician will apply the tanning solution to your complete body and instruct you on standing and positioning your arms, among other things. You can use either strip-down (as most people do) or keep your underwear on, depending on how comfortable you are. In addition, the technician has been educated to be sensitive to your personal preferences. If you're going to wear your underwear, make sure it's ancient and dark. You can get this tan at a tanning or beauty clinic, or you can book an appointment for a technician to come to your home.

Self-Tanning vs. Spray Tanning

The most significant distinction between spray tanning and self-tanning is that spray tanning requires equipment, whereas self-tanning involves the use of materials that may be applied at home.

You can use sprays or the handheld unit to simulate the light mist you'd get in a booth. Typical lotions and moisturizers can be compared to sunless tanning creams. Both sprays and lotions produce an even, full-body tan. Tanners who desire more control over the depth of their tan can use lotion. You can easily apply less or more lotion. It takes longer to apply the cream than it does to apply the spray.
