The human mind has always been fascinated by animation. Seeing virtual characters come to life through animation is a matter of interest not just for children, but also adults. It is the best way to put across a message that would otherwise require a lot of time and effort to elucidate. With the help of animation the art of story-telling can also be refined like never before.

The focus in 2D animation lies on creating storyboards, characters and backgrounds in a two-dimensional environment. While 2D animation has been around for a long time now, 3D animation is fast gaining popularity for the almost real experience it offers. Either way, animation has become a part of our lives.

2D animation India has influenced children and their minds in a big way. It is being used extensively to entertain as well as educate children and is fast becoming an indispensable asset for parents. From preschool toddlers to teenage children, animation offers something to learn for everyone.

Indians love stories. Grandparents have been known to engage their grandkids with their intelligent, fun and motivational stories. Religious stories have also been widely known for the message they give. Through animation parents can now help their kids to gain interest as well as knowledge from them.

To bring ideas to life a technical illustrator is required. Illustrations become necessary when it is difficult to explain complicated concepts through texts. Sometimes, along with the writing, visual representation is also required to enhance and clarify concepts. These representations correspond with the text or idea and make it simpler to understand.

Illustrations are often used in children’s books. Other than that they are used in magazines, advertisements, books, posters, graphic novels, greeting cards, etc. Hence they are used for teaching as well as playing and watching cartoons.

In case of design work attention needs to be given to the type of file. There are different types of illustrations; Raster and Vector. Sometimes conversion of Raster to Vector illustration becomes necessary owing to the inherent limitations that come with raster images.

In case the client requires a large banner or sign, raster images cannot be used since they can pixilate by scaling. Vector images can be significantly enlarged without losing resolution. According to the need of the client the conversion needs to be done.

Hence, animation can be done by using illustrations that serve the client’s purpose successfully.
