Hiding like precious gems, these waterfalls have been hidden out of sight like gemstones, but definitely are a must-visit when you visit Florida. Why is this the case? Because these waterfalls are some of the most dangerous spots in Florida, hidden away from the masses who are prone to taking waterfalls for granted. One of the best known waterfalls in Florida is the Babbitty Falls. It is one of the prettiest waterfalls in the entire state with its clear emerald green water. This waterfall is located in Chipley Falls, an area which is just outside of Tallahassee, and is right off the Buford Dam. There are many other smaller waterfalls in the area, each with their own story to tell. Next on florida of waterfalls in Florida is the Siesta Key and Meeks Canyon waterfalls, both located on Siesta Key Beach. One of the waterfalls at Indian River State Park has become especially famous and is called Spirit Falls. Another great way to enjoy waterfalls in Florida is by visiting St. Lucia, which is in the St. Lucian Islands. When visiting Florida, make sure you take a hike to one of the many hiking trails in Florida; Florida has some incredible hiking trails. Hiking to the St. Lucian Islands is a great way to enjoy the natural waterfalls in Florida as well as some of the other great hiking trails in Florida, such as the Florida Keys. The island of St. Lucia boasts three great waterfalls, and several other great hiking trails. Many of the hiking trails can also be used for swimming if you wish. One of the best known waterfalls in Florida that doesn't take up much room is the Devil's Head Waterfall. Located on U.S. military Campgrounds near Destin, this waterfall can be seen from anywhere on the range, including close to the beach. The most famous waterfall in Florida is the Big Lagoon, which sits between Camp Lejune and Fort Walton Beach and was the very first natural Florida waterfall built by a man. Now that you know the best way to enjoy Florida's waterfalls, it's time to figure out where you want to go. Some of the best hiking trails are located in the southern part of Florida near Dunnellon, while Orlando and Daytona Beach offer some fantastic waterfalls and even a beautiful rail trail through Everglades National Park. If you prefer to visit Florida during the warmer months, then you could choose to visit one of the islands, or any one of the four main counties - Miami, Orange, Hillsborough, and Seminole.
