Blizzard’s response to Legacy Servers

The Executive Producer and Vice President for WOW, J. Allen Brack has taken to the US World of Warcraft forums to give Blizzard’s first response to the issue of legacy servers that resulted from the recent legal action against a popular private server.
He has gone into some detailed statement about why Blizzard doesn’t turn a server with an old version of WOW. There are tremendous operational challenges to integrate classic servers, not to mention the ongoing support of multiple live versions for every aspect of WOW.
Also, he has stated ideas Blizzard has considered to satisfy those who are nostalgic for days of past WOW. A pristine realm will be opened. All leveling acceleration would be turned off, including character transfers, heirloom gear, character boosts, Recruit-A-Friend bonuses, WOW Token, access to cross realm zones, and group finder.
