TikTok owner ByteDance is now shutting this business in India

After the ban on TikTok last time, ByteDance now runs education literacy app Snapsolve and music streaming platform Resso in the country.

According to a report in TechCrunch citing sources,\"ByteDance is shutting down its edtech business in India\".

\" Utmost of the workers, if not all, are being let go,\"one of the sources said, according to the report, adding that\"the edtech division employed over three dozen people in India\".

ByteDance was yet to reply to the report.

SnapSolve says it\'s\"the choice of over 1 million Indian scholars for mistrustfulness- working and learning.\"The app helps scholars from class 6 to 12.

The Indian online edtech space is roaring, with several new platforms entering a great quantum of backing in the remote literacy period.

In 2020, the Indian government banned several apps developed by Chinese enterprises, including TikTok, over enterprises that these apps were engaging in conditioning that hovered the public security and defence of the country.

Reports surfaced this time that ByteDance has started dealing the AI technology of the short videotape- making app to other companies, including in India where the app is banned.

A Financial Times report had said that the company has demurred off a new division called BytePlus and is dealing TikTok AI to companies like India- grounded social gaming platform GamesApp, US fashion app Goat, Singapore trip point WeGo, Indonesian shopping app Chilibeli, among others.
